a proud moment for our club and we will push on from here, 100 per
cent.
“We’ve never lacked belief. We’ve never questioned what we’re
doing and we’re always in a good headspace. That’s my job: to make
sure that we’re always a tight-knit group and focusing on getting that
next result.
“I know the players will hurt after a derby defeat and rightly so but
there are a lot of games coming up that we’ve got to focus on and
we’ve got to keep pushing on.
“We have to stay positive. That wasn’t the performance of a team
that sits bottom of the league and that’s why I’m still happy and
proud of them. Those girls would absolutely run through a brick wall
for me and for this club. They’ll continue to do that and we will get it
right. There’s no panic and we will make sure we climb up that table.”

Of the Anfield experience, Vicky said that she hoped it would be the
first of many such occasions. “There’ll be more opportunities to play
here. Peter Moore was with us in the dressing-room and the club have
been fantastic to make sure this can go ahead, so I’m honoured to be
at a club that wants to keep pushing the women’s game forward.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day but I’m working very hard behind the
scenes to make sure that our women’s team is getting the support and
the applause that it deserves.
“It’s a step in the right direction for the women’s game to add to the
growth that’s been evident nationwide and I’m sure there are going
to be more and more games played at Premier League stadiums. I’ll
keep knocking on the door to make sure that we can play here again
because that red carpet of Anfield is the best carpet you could ever
play on.”
