TIPS FOR NATURAL HAIR

When wearing your natural hair out
(and in its full glory!), the fi rst and
most important step is to restore its
natural moisture balance. Typically,
super curly or coily hair is denser,
which makes it harder for your
natural sebum oils to travel down the
hair shaft, often resulting in parched
stands. To circumvent dryness, make
sure to cleanse, moisturize, and
pamper the hair at least twice a week
with a mild, pH-balanced formula, like
Dove DermaCare Dryness & Itch
Relief Anti-Dandruff Conditioner.
Active ingredients like pyrithione zinc
target dryness, itchiness, and fl akes,
while coconut oil, sunfl ower seed oil,
and shea butter add extra hydration.
It’s a win-win!

TIPS FOR BRAIDS

AND EXTENSIONS

When shampooing your
extensions, always focus on
the scalp. Start by applying
shampoo directly on the scalp
and using the pads of your
fi ngers (not fi ngernails) to
gently massage the product
thoroughly to remove dirt
and/or residue. Try Dove
DermaCare Dryness &
Itch Relief Anti-Dandruff
Shampoo designed to nourish
while relieving dandruff-prone
scalps from irritation, dryness,
and more. Make sure to rinse
hair thoroughly, allowing the
water to fl ow down to the end
of your extensions or braids.
Post-wash, towel off, then air
dry or opt for sitting under a
hooded dryer for at least 30
minutes to ensure that your
hair is completely dry. To fi nish,
use a light oil or hydrating
mousse to rehydrate and style
as desired. Remember, despite
the ease of extensions, try
not to leave them in for more
than six to eight weeks for
optimal hair and scalp health.
