Theouteredgesof a diagonally

set quilt can be a bit wobbly

andmayneedtobetrimmed.Usea

24inruler,placingtheruler’sinline

whereseamscrossonthecornersof

thesettingtriangles.Straightenthe

edgewitha rotarycutter,leavinga

inseamallowancebeyondtheblock

cornersaroundtheedgesof thequilt.

Thishelpsmakesurethatthe quilt

corners are also square.

Diagonallysetquiltscanalso

bestretchy.Eventhoughthe

settingtriangleshavethestraight

of grainalongtheoutsideedge,the

blocksareseton-pointwiththebias

grainrunningfromtoptobottom

andsidetoside.Stopthestretch

bystaystitchinginawayfromthe

edgeof thequilttop,justwithin

theinseamallowance.Setyour

sewingmachinefora longerstitch

lengthanddonotstretch the quilt

top when sewing.
