of theCrosses– oneof themosttreasureddesignsof the20thcentury.The
designincludessomeof thefussy-cuttingelementsthatmakeLucy’sendlessly
adaptableblocksucha favouriteforfabriclovers.YoucanreadmoreaboutLucy’s

appointmentat thehometheywerecreatedfor,TheManorat HemingfordGrey.
I hadenormousfunchoosingfabricforthisquilt.I mixedtwo
complementaryLayerCakesbyBonnie& CamilleforModa,cherrypickingthe
bestprintsforfussy-cuttingandsavingtheblenderprintsfortheouterportions
of theblock.Stripedfabric,likethefunmeasuringtapeprint,workparticularly
wellforthecentres.I madesimpletemplatesfromclearplasticto helpmechoose
whichmotifto highlight,markingthequarterinchseamallowancewitha
permanentmarker.So,basically,I’mgivingyouan excuse to stare at lovely fabric
