triangles from squares.

Finisheddiagonalof block÷ 2

= finished diagonal of corner triangle.

measurement=size of square to cut.

Cutthesquarediagonallyonceintotwo

cornertriangles.Repeat to cut another square

intotwotriangles.

Example

If wehavea finishedblocksizeof 3in(3in

unfinished),thenthesizeof squareto cutforcorner

triangles would be 3in, calculated as follows:

SEWING SETTING

TRIANGLES

Setting and corner triangles are sewn in position slightly dierently.

A settingtriangleneedsto haveitsright-angledcorneraligned with

the right-angled corner of the square, as showninFig9A.

Placethetrianglerightsidestogetherwiththesquareandsewthe

inseamalongtheshortedgeof thetriangle,asinFig9B. Press

the seam to one side, asinFig9C (or press open if preferred).

Cornertrianglesarealignedwith their long edge against the side of a

square(Fig 10A).

PlacethetrianglerightsidestogetherwiththesquareasinFig10B,

withthepointsof thetriangleprojectingequallybeyondthesquare

at bothends.Sewthein seamasshown. Press the seam outwards

(Fig 10C) (or open if preferred).
