Stitchthefirneedleswithgreen
threadusingeitherfreemotion,
standardstraightstitch,orsewby
hand. Start at the top centre of the
‘twig’,moveyourneedleleftalongthe
design,thenbacktocentre,thenright
andbacktothecentreagain.Stitch
downwards,thenrepeatforthewhole
stem.Endwithinthedrawnhollyleaf
outlinetogivea layerede ect.To
finish,stitchupanddownthetwig
four(4)timeswithbrownthreadand
stitchovertheivystemstwice(sew
throughthedrawnleafshapes as these
will be covered)(Fig 3 ).

Positiontherobin’slegsandivy
leavesontothecushionfront
andadherewithaniron(tryto
avoidremovingothersurrounding
markings).Thebottomofthelegs
shouldsitundertheleafandcontinue
overthedrawnlineofthebird’s
body.Drawinveinswitha removable
marker.Stitcharoundthelegs,leaves
and vein details(Fig 4 ). Victoria free-
motionstitchedaroundeachshape
twiceandwentovertheveinstwice
to give them a ‘sketchy’ e ect.

asyougo,adherethehollyleaves
innumericalorderreferringtothe
positioningtemplate.Stitcharound
theedgesandaddtheveindetails.
Adhere the berries and stitch.

Positiontherobinpartsusingthe
markingsonthecushionfrontin
thisorder:tummy,mainbody,face/
chest,eyeandbeak.Onceyouare
happy,adherethenstitcharoundall
shapesandaddwing detail(Fig5A
andFig5B).

Trimbackbatting,pressout
anycreasesandremove any
remaining markings.
