Discover Britain - 10.2019

BELOW THE STREETS
For a number of years, Hidden London has been the name of the London Transport Museum’s programme of tours and
events at disused underground stations across the capital, taking in Euston’s lost tunnels and Down Street – Winston
Churchill’s secret station. Now the museum is hosting a major exhibition of the same name and we are very proud to
announce that Discover Britain is the official media partner.
This fascinating exhibition will bring together a vast number of archive items connected to the disused stations, from
vintage posters to secret blueprints, while an original 1930s ticket booth will be installed in the galleries. Along the
route, you will also hear stories from the Blitz (when 2,000 workers from the Plessey aircraft factory worked in the
tunnels of the Central line) as well as which tubes are used to grow salad leaves or featured in films like Skyfall.
Hidden London runs from 11 October 2019 to January 2021 at London Transport Museum. http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk
