If you want to lower
your chances of
developing bowel
cancer, eat more
yoghurt. Research
published in the
journal Gut has
found that eating
two or more weekly
servings of yoghurt
may help to lower the
risk of developing the
abnormal growths
which precede the
development of
bowel cancer. The
study followed a
group of men from
1986 to 2012, and
found that men who
ate yoghurt were
26% less likely to
develop abnormal
growths that were
highly likely to
become cancerous.

“If the goal is to
boost sales of fresh

stores, it makes
sense that vendors
present them in
an attractive and
appetising manner,”
says study
co-author Bryan
Howell. “In the

the cool colour, but
I didn’t know it would
carry over into the
vegetable world.”
