2003
The year was 2003, and supermodel Naomi Campbell fronted one
of Tatler’s most ambitious shoots ever. The story saw a coterie of the
industry’s brightest and best take Paris by storm, shooting a carousel of
looks at each house’s couture show – backstage, on the catwalk and in the
audience. The idea was masterminded by the inimitable Fashion Director
Isabella Blow, styled by the Hon Daphne Guinness and Charlie Anderson,
and shot by David LaChapelle. In one memorable frame, which made
the cover of the May issue, Campbell wowed in a Butterfly headpiece by
Philip Treacy. In the same issue, Tatler interviewed glamorous flatmates
(Will Young and Mary Fellowes, Jemma Kidd and Orlando Montagu),
offered insight into womens’ football (Jasmine Guinness revealed the
main reason she plays ‘is to go to the pub afterwards’), and Jaquetta
Wheeler, Stephanie Seymour and Jean Paul Gaultier also shone in the
couture-fuelled caper through the City of Lights.
