John Krasinski says his Jack Ryan is a
“changed man” coming into season 2.
“This is a guy who very openly stated,
‘Here’s all the work. Go get the bad
guys. I don’t want to be a part of it,’ ”
the EP and star explains of the CIA
analyst-turned-operative. “But now his
eyes have been opened and he can’t
go back.” Where he can go is on a mis-
sion spanning the U.S., U.K., Russia, and
Venezuela to unravel a new nefarious
plot. Joining the cast are Michael Kelly
and Noomi Rapace, the latter playing
Jack’s potential love interest...or nem-
esis? “I want to team up with her so
bad, and probably have feelings for her,
but also am constantly aware this is
espionage,” says Krasinksi. “This isn’t a
date at the mall. This can go south at
any time.” —PATRICK GOMEZ
While the gang has long congregated
at the produce stand, star Nathan
Dales says season 7 of this Canadian
cult hit revolves around the call-in
show Crack an Ag run by Wayne
(Jared Keeso), Katy (Michelle Mylett),
Squirrely Dan (K. Trevor Wilson), and
Daryl (Dales). Any resident with an
agriculture-related question can reach
out, Dales says, “and then we can get
back to doing what we do best, which
is chorin’ and bulls----in’.” The six-
episode season also finds Marie-Fred
(Magalie Lépine-Blondeau) and Wayne
engaged. Other story lines involve a
charity drive, episodes on soccer rules
and hockey, and Dales’ favorite:
Squirrely Dan’s “private viewing habits
on the computer.” —RACHEL YANG

ANNE HATHAWAY
“She’s a woman who finds
herself finally confronting
a problem she always
felt was too big to share,”
Carney says of Hath-
away’s character, a woman
based on author Terri
Cheney, who has bipolar
disorder. “She has built
a persona which enables
her to function at a very
high level while hiding
a vital part of her
personality from all but
her family.”
DEV PATEL
The Academy Award nom-
inee plays a man who gets
into online dating. “He
learns that his high hopes
for love aren’t always
possible in the real world,
and that resetting one’s
sights is often more
rewarding than chasing
dreams,” says Carney.
TINA FEY
The 30 Rock creator’s
story is “about how small
adjustments can help
save a marriage in big
ways, says Carney. “And
that in order to make a
marriage work, you don’t
have to play on the same
team, but instead, that
a little healthy competi-
tion can go a long way
to keeping a couple
interested.”
ANDY GARCIA
“Andy plays a very roman-
tic older man who’s been
carrying a torch for 17
years,” says Carney.
“When he finally con-
fronts the woman out of
his past, he finds himself
developing in ways he
didn’t think he had in him.”
JOHN SLATTERY
“In order to make his
marriage work, he’ll have
to dig deeper than any
part he’s been up for,”
Carney says of the Mad
Men star’s character,
an actor “who has been
coasting on charisma
for far too long.”
CRISTIN MILIOTI
“When a one-night
stand leads to some life-
changing news, she finds
solace, comfort and non-
judgmental support in
her friendly doorman,”
Carney says of the story
centered on the Black
Mirror standout.
