ROUNDUP

While much of the attention in season 10 will be paid to the
departing Michonne (Danai Gurira), a lot of the story will concern the
two characters still standing from the very beginning: Daryl (Norman
Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). “The child Carol adopted and
raised into teenagerhood died at the hands of Alpha [Samantha Mor-
ton], and that crushed her,” notes showrunner Angela Kang. “She’s
pursuing revenge.” How will Daryl react to Carol’s pain? “This is one of
the strongest relationships in the show,” Kang says. “They are truly
best friends. Obviously there are a lot of fans that wish for more, but
there’s some really beautiful stuff between them.” —DALTON ROSS

THE WALKING DEAD

Returning Drama Season 10 OCT—6 9 pm AMC

Arrow SEASON 8 OCT—15 9 PM THE CW
Oliver (Stephen Amell) may be traveling the world on a mission to save the
multiverse in the eighth and final season, but he won’t be alone. He’s joined
by his right-hand man Diggle (David Ramsey) and Earth-2’s Laurel (Katie
Cassidy Rodgers). “Their dynamic is incredible,” says Ramsey. “A good
chunk of what we’re doing will be with the three of them in a way that they
haven’t been before.” Having only 10 episodes has also changed the show.
“It feels like a limited series,” says Amell. “Every episode feels like an event.”

The Flash SEASON 6 OCT—8 8 PM THE CW
Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) aren’t the only members
of Team Flash in mourning when season 6 begins, as Caitlin (Danielle
Panabaker) and her icy personality Killer Frost are grieving the loss of
their father. “The way they deal with this will be a delightfully fresh take
on both of their characters, but will especially impact the Killer Frost
persona,” says showrunner Eric Wallace. “This is a big Killer Frost season.
Don’t be surprised if [she] takes on an even larger role.”

Supergirl SEASON 5 OCT—6 9 PM THE CW
Season 5 is “much more relationship-oriented than season 4,” says exec-
utive producer Robert Rovner. As Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie
McGrath) face a rift in their friendship caused by Kara’s super-secret, Nia
(Nicole Maines) and Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) will be adjusting to their new
romance. “They’re absolutely adorable —but, as you can imagine, they’re
quirky,” says EP Jessica Queller. “[They’re] going to have to figure out the
glitches and how they work together.”

Black Lightning SEASON 3 OCT—7 9 PM THE CW
Jefferson Pierce’s (Cress Williams) family is feeling the pressure of the
Markovian conflict as season 3 lights up. “It’s pulled everyone in different
directions,” says Williams. “The family is probably the most disjointed
we’ve ever had it.” Hoping to protect his superpowered daughters from
the metahuman war, Jefferson makes “a really big sacrifice” that reveals
“a little bit more of his angrier side,” teases Williams, who will also appear
in the forthcoming Arrowverse crossover (finally!). Black Lightning has
a busy fall ahead of him.
