ello there! Attached is
a photo of two of the
‘Cacti Trio’ designs featured in
issue 269 (July 2018). Having
decided to recycle some old
feather cushion insides that
I was going to dispose of,
I came up with the idea of
making a pair of cacti cushions
for my lovely friend’s birthday.
When another friend saw
the finished product, she
hinted that she would like one
too. I have two more cushions
to recycle, so I may decide
to do the third design to
complete the set!
Yaina Davies, via email
Tina: Thank you for your
letter, Yaina. This is such a
cool and inventive way to give
new life to old cushions – by
embellishing them with your
stitching. No wonder your
other friend fancied one too!
Cacti are cool at the moment,
and we can just picture this
lovely pair in a conservatory or
on kitchen chairs.
This was from another
lovely set of charts designed
by Angela Poole, in issue

GREETINGS GALORE

aving just finished some cards for my family and
friends, I wanted to send you a photo of them. They
are all designs taken from your magazine – I hope you like
them. In the future, would it be possible to do some floral
designs and some quick-stitch designs for men in your
design library? Thanks.
Marion Kinsman, via email
Sue: We always love seeing readers’ finished work and it’s
interesting to see a great variety in your stitching, Marion.
What a good idea for our Design Library – watch this space.
Greetings galore

ear cross stitching friends,
I’m writing from Spain.
Britain saw the bicentenary of
Queen Victoria ́s birth on the
24 May 2019. So, in The World
of Cross Stitching magazine,
I would like to mark this
milestone and therefore join
in the celebrations with this
commemorative piece for one
of the greatest Queens ever.
I would also like to take
this opportunity to thank you
for your wonderful magazine,
which is always full of inspiring
designs to motivate me.

ear The World of
Cross Stitching, I
want to share my latest
project with you. I’ve just
finished and framed this
adorable jungle scene
from issue 272 (Oct
2018). I stitched it for my
boyfriend’s sister who is
expecting a baby in the
next few weeks.
I just wanted to say
thank you so much for
providing me with such
a beautiful design – she
absolutely loves it!
Jennifer C, via email
Hannah: This finished
design looks so adorable,
Jennifer! We love this
design by Helen Brindley,
with the vibrant parrot in
the trees and the cheeky
monkey who is hitching
a ride on the giraffe.
Great work here, and you
obviously had a grateful
recipient to hand it over
to. Whether the baby is a
boy or a girl, this nursery
picture will be cherished
forever. Thank you for
your letter, Jennifer.

Cacti cushions
Yaina’s cacti cushions were
popular with her friends!

REALLY

WILD ONES

Emily: Thanks, Teresa –
what could be better than
to mark historic dates, such
as Queen Victoria’s birth, in
cross stitching? A fab, detailed
design to keep forever.

Really wild ones
