ere’s a photo of me with
my most recent finished
piece, the ‘Snow Queen’ from
issue 249 (Dec 2016). This
took me about nine months,
and it even kept me company
on many travels, from Scotland
to Portugal! I really enjoyed
all the beadwork and details
in this design, and I was
especially excited to add the
final touches to bring her to
life. She’s now framed and
displayed in the living room.
This is my second Shannon
Wasilieff design, after
‘Cinderella’, and I’m looking
forward to completing more
of her stunning works in
the future. At the moment,
I’ve started ‘Niagara Falls’
by John Clayton as well as
completing some smaller
projects for family gifts.
Laura Embrey, via email

Hannah: Wow, Laura!
You’ve worked hard to bring
Shannon’s stunning design
to life, and it’s inspirational
to hear how you kept going,
and how many countries
your project has been to!
What a pretty picture your
‘Snow Queen’ makes, and
she’ll be an ace companion
for issue 248 (Xmas 2016)’s
‘Cinderella’. Both of these
issues are available to buy
digitally via The World of
Crossing Stitching app.

reetings from North Carolina, USA! I’m an
avid reader of your magazine and have been since 2018.
I’ve been stitching off and on since I was a teen. There are hardly
any stitching shops anymore here in the USA so I look forward
to your magazine every month. It has such a wealth of tips and
tricks with fantastic ideas and designs. I also really enjoy the
‘Wishes Granted’ and ‘Friendly Advice’ sections. My favourite
cover kit was the little ‘Fashion Boutique’ card from issue 271
in September 2018. I have several other designs from the
magazine also tagged and lined up to do. There are just not
enough hours in the day...
Terri Galvin, North Carolina, USA
Sue: It always makes our day to hear how much people look
forward to the magazine and the designs that we put together.
We hope you enjoy this issue and many more to come!

ear The World of Cross
Stitching team, I thought
you might be interested to
see the cute bag which I keep
next to my armchair where
l do all my stitching. This
bag is invaluable for keeping
the floor tidy as l put all my
snipped thread ends into it. I
would be lost without it!
Heather Byram,
Australia
Tina: What a really good way
to keep your stitching area
tidy and organised, Heather.
Definitely much nicer than a
bin! Did you make this sweet,
little bag yourself? Perhaps we
need a cross stitch pattern for
such an item...

hank you for the versatile designs featured in issue 278
(March 2019) of The World of Cross Stitching. They’re
so beautiful and quick to stitch. I enjoyed every minute of
stitching them. I’ve made four cards, which I thought you
might like to see. Now I have to start on my Easter cards!
Peggy Thomas, via email
Emily: It’s interesting to hear how versatile you found the
charts, Peggy. This set of Mother’s Day cards from issue 278
is an absolute winner, as they can be used for birthdays,
anniversaries or as thank you cards – any special event!
