Project Snowy Snowdrops
DESIGNED BY AMANDA GREGORY
These hardy little flowers will be blossoming early
this year when you stitch this cool creation!
blooms
N
o matter how dark the days
are, come January the first
snowdrops always poke their
heads through the frozen soil. These
little buds are a welcome sight in
the wintertime, bringing a message
of new life and a promise of what’s
to come in the year ahead. And,
with Amanda’s stitched version you
can enjoy a daily reminder of this
heartening message of hope and joy.
These dainty flowers are stitched
on Fabric Flair’s Snowy Days Blue
Portrait Aida, whose added silver
sparkles create a beautifully wintry
look. The stems and leaves incorporate
no fewer than 11 different shades of
green, the effect of this gives a real
richness of depth to the piece.
Finishing your design in a
distressed wood frame further adds
to the frosty feeling while also letting
the stitching and gorgeous fabric to
take centre stage. Hang these lovely
winter blooms on your wall and you’ll
be reminded of new life and fresh
starts all year long.
New season
I went for a realistic style in this snowdrop
design, as they are so lovely just as they
are. The simplicity and contrasts of colours
produces a really eye-catching result. I hope
you enjoy stitching these snowy delights!
