Creative Paint Workshop for Mixed-Media Artists

(ff) #1

Step-by-Step Encaustic Painting
Keep your first project simple. For this demonstration I painted on a small
wooden box with deep sides, making it easy to handle. There are only three
colors, which are applied in thin layers to keep the paint from getting too
muddy from over-fusing. A simple grayscale digital photo printed twice on
regular office paper provides a focal point for the more abstract textures and
marks around it.
