Mary Black
Mary Black received her M.F.A from the
San Francisco Art Institute and S.F.A from
Sonoma Sta te University. Her abstracted
encaustic paintings have been exhib-
ited nationally to include the prestigious
Encaustic Works '07 ju ried by acclaimed
artist Joan Snyder. A recipient of many
awards, recently her work was chosen to
appear on the label of the Eric Kent Wine
Cellars 2005 Chardonnay wine. Her art has
been published frequently. Mary and her
husband reside in Sonoma County, Califor-
nia. where they grow premium Chardonnay
grapes in the Russian River Valley.

Louis Bording
Louis Barding, a native of San Francisco,
received his art degree from Skid more
College. New York. He then spent a year
traveling in Europe. He is currently a
member of SOMA Artists Studios in San
Francisco, where he maintains his own
studio. His work is exhibited regularly in
the San Francisco Bay Area

Robert Burridge
Robert Burridge is a painter in all media,
national juror, and college and national
workshop in structor, and he is the honor-
ary president of the International Society
of Acrylic Painters. A signat ure member of
both the Phila delphia Water Color Soci-
ety and t he I SAP, his honors include the
prestigious Crest Medal for Achievement i n
t he Arts and Franklin Mint awards. His work
is featured in many books and magazines,
on Sta rbucks Coffee mugs, on Pearl Vodka
bottles and on eight commercial tapestries.
His paintings are sold in galleries world-
wide, including Sausalito, Raleigh, Sedona,
California, Bend, Oregon, Hawaii, and on
cruise ships. His country barn studio is
located on California's central coast in San
Luis Obispo County.

Louise Forbush
Born and raised in New England, Louise
Forbush spent several years working in
music and the arts in London, and later
lived in Japan, taking workshops in ikebana
and papermaking. She's lived and worked
in California for more t han twenty years
and has her studio in Sausalito. She is
represented by ACCI Gallery in Berkeley,
California, and has participated in many
Bay Area so lo and group shows.

Karen Hatzigeorgiou
Karen Hatzigeorgiou is a part -t ime artist
and a full-t ime seventh grade English
teacher. She has taken art classes with
collage artists Jonathan Talbot and Ann
Baldwin. She is a member of Arts Benicia
in Benic ia, California, and has shown her
work in several locations throughout t he
state. "The Apothecary's Apprentice" was
published as a note card and calendar
t hrough Amber Lotus Publishing in 200 4.

Joan Hauck
Joan Hauck received her B.A. degree in
art f rom Douglass College in New Jersey,
but she has been a Californian for many
years. Her t raditional oi l landscapes have
gradually morphed into abstraction, in
acrylics, mixed media, encaustic, and fiber
work. Her work has been shown in solo
and group shows in California and appears
in collections in the United States and in
Ibiza, Spain.

Beryl Miller
Beryl Miller was born in England, raised in
Canada, and moved to San Francisco as a
young woman. She raised a family, doing
house remodeling, carpentry, painting,
and product ion art pieces. She studied
with various p rivate instructors and at
U.c. Extension and College of Marin. She
has worked with painting. photography,
jewelry, and lithography. In the past eight
years she has won prizes in juried shows
and exhibited in many galleries throughout
Northern California. She has a studio at
the Novato Art Center where for the past
nine years she has concentrated on her real
love, painting.

Sandi Miot
Sandi M iot is a California artist working pri-
marily in encaustics. Her work is known and
collected both nationally and internationally
and has appeared on the sets of popular
TV shows such as "Friends," '"ER," and
"(SI: Miami." She has studied and worked
extensively in a variety of mediums, from
clay and glass to o il, pastels, and water-
color, but she especially loves the ancient
mediums such as encaustic and gold leaf.

Thomas Morphis
Thomas Morphis has exhibited his work
in almost twenty solo shows and has par-
ticipated in around 100 group shows
across the United States. He has a B.F.A.
from Pacific Northwest College of Art and
an M.F.A. from (ranbrook Academy of
Art. His studiO is in Napa Valley, where
he has taught painting for more t han
twenty years.
