Lakes and rivers

If you only do one thing this month...

WINNER Adrian Squirrell
Left I was on the island of La Palmas and
went on a two-hour hike along a gorge
to visit a colourful waterfall. When
I arrived, the stream that was running
away from it was far more interesting –
it looked like liquid gold because of all
the iron dissolved in it, which you could
smell in the air. I decided to use my
drone to get an aerial shot of the ‘golden’
stream as it snaked along the gorge.

Opposite (top) It was a lovely morning
in October in the New Forest. There
was a bit of mist and the potential for
a great sky, so I headed to Markway
Bridge where there is a stream in an
open area that off ers a good chance
of refl ections. The sky and light that
morning combined to give some great
photo opportunities.
