STOW-ON-THE-WOLD,
GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Live like a lord in this

Cotswolds manor for rent

The quaint, honey-stone cottages
of the Cotswolds are most people’s
picture-perfect idea of rural English
architecture. There are no low
ceilings or narrow doorways at
Astley Manor, however. This
sprawling eight-bedroom manor
has been newly added to the rental
market and boasts an orchard,
stocked lake and tennis courts.
While not to be confused with
the ruined 16th-century house of the
same name in nearby Warwickshire,
it is nevertheless a perfect place for
your Downton Abbey fantasies as
you can even hire a maid and chef.

Seven Sisters, East Sussex
Famous chalk cliffs part of new campaign to go “out out”

Five protected landscapes in England’s south-east have joined forces in a new campaign to
encourage Londoners to explore the countryside. “Going Out Out” was inspired by vintage
travel posters and a poll showing Londoners were more likely to travel hundreds of miles
to the Lake District than visit these beautiful areas just an hour from the capital.
The campaign comes on the 70th anniversary of the government passing an act to create
the various National Parks and designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Destinations involved in the project include Chichester Harbour and the South Downs
National Park – the latter home to the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs. http://www.going-outout.co.uk
