in Campbell Park
for a book on Milton
Keynes’s 50th
anniversary, Gill
wanted to ‘promote
a bright, fresh, green
and vibrant city which
is often maligned
and thought of as
a concrete jungle’.
Panasonic Lumix G5,
14-140mm, 1/200sec
at f/7.1, ISO 320

Dubai Sunrise
3 On the first
morning of her first
trip to Dubai, Gill
captured this shot
from the top of the
Palm Hotel. ‘I wanted
to capture a misty
skyline and also
the rising sun, but
before any flare was
visible – to create
that warm “urban
oasis in the desert”
feeling,’ she says.
Panasonic Lumix
G80, 14-140mm,
1/320sec at f/8,
ISO 200

Singapore
Skyline
1 Gill shot during
the blue hour, and
composed to include
part of the Helix
Bridge on the
left, and as much
reflection as possible.
Panasonic Lumix
G80, 14-140mm,
10sec at f/18,
ISO 200

Fire at Sea
2 Taken from the top
deck of a cruise ship
that was leaving port
in Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, Gill wanted
this shot to show
not only the drama of
the sunset, but the
experience of being
on a cruise ship.
Panasonic Lumix
G7, 14-140mm,
1/320sec at f/8,
ISO 1250

GillPrince, Milton Keynes
Gill’s love of photography began aged seven, when her father handed
her an old Russian Zenit ‘that weighed a ton!’ She has a particular love
of landscapes and cityscapes, enjoying the thrill of chasing the perfect
ight. ‘I also love the way photography absorbs me totally. Whatever else
s going on in my life, when I’m out with the camera, all of that fades
away.’Gill’seventual aim is to start making a living from photography. ‘I’m always
thinking about how I can turn my projects and my skills into something that pays
the bills,’ she says. See more of her work at http://www.gillprince.com.
