unravel.Thisworksbestwithgarments
usingstrandedcolourworkasthe
‘meshing’ofthealternatingyarnshelps
tostabilisethecutedgesofthefabric.You
castonatleast5 stitchesateachsteek
point,andthenworkacrossthem,each
stitchinanalternatecolour.Whenthe
garmentisfinished,youcanmachinesew
orcrochetuptwosetsofthesteekstitches
tostabilisethemandthencutalongthe
entirelengthofthesteekinbetweenthem.Youthenfoldbacktheedgeandpickup
stitchesasyouwouldfora buttonband,knitthebandand then lightly tack down the
