EMMERDALE
ITV, 7pm
It’s a sad day in the village as Frank’s funeral
takes place and the people closest to him are
seriously struggling. As are those who feel
responsible for his death.
Megan doesn’t even know whether or not to
attend, and then is left heartbroken when Tracy
shows her the ring box she thinks Frank had
gone into the factory to retrieve.
Putting the ring on, Megan breaks down in
tears – and then delivers some tough talking to
the congregation gathered in the church.
EASTENDERS
BBC1, 8pm
Mel might think she’s doing a good job of keeping
her fugitive son Hunter’s presence on the Square
under wraps, but let’s face it, the badly injured
lad is unlikely to stay hidden in that basement for
long. Especially when Ben – quizzing her for
information on Lisa’s whereabouts – gets wind
that something suspicious is going on.
Callum is keeping secrets too, and when
Whitney finds Chris’s letters and asks him about
them, he can’t bring himself to tell her the truth.

CORONATION STREET
ITV, 7.30pm & 8pm
Eileen has sworn off men after her latest
encounter, but as Seb talks about meeting up
with Alina again, it’s clear she’s still missing Jan,
so Moira and Liz take her to the pub.
When she gets back home she’s terrified to
realise there’s an intruder in the house – but is
even more shocked when she sees who it is, and
hears what he has to say.
Elsewhere, Robert’s bad luck with engagement
rings continues.

DAD’S ARMY: THE
LOST EPISODES (EP2)
GOLD, 8pm
What’s this: a new Dad’s Army
episode? Well, yes and no.
The second series of one of
Britain’s best-loved sitcoms
was originally broadcast 50
years ago, but three of the six
episodes were lost and haven’t
been shown on screen since.
So the good people at GOLD
decided to remake them,
using Jimmy Perry and David
Croft’s original scripts and a
new cast.
A cast which delivers pretty
perfect homages to the
originals, including Kevin
McNally as the officious and
pompous Captain Mainwaring,
Kevin Eldon as the panic-
stricken Lance Corporal
Jones, Timothy West as the
well-meaning Private Godfrey
and Robert Bathurst as the
suave and sardonic Sergeant
Wilson.
In this episode, A Stripe For
Frazer, Captain Mainwaring
instigates a competition
between Frazer and Jones to
see who deserves a promotion
to corporal.
In other words... see who
can bribe or flatter him best,
or impress him with the way
they tackle imaginary Nazis.

POLDARK
BBC1, 8.30pm
IT has run for five series, attracted millions
of loyal viewers, and – thanks to a certain
topless scything scene – turned Aidan
Turner into an international sex symbol
and a possible candidate to be the next
James Bond.
But now the end is here as Poldark draws to a
close with this last-ever episode. The Beeb might
well need to set up some sort of helpline for
bereft fans.
There’s a lot to be resolved before we get to
that ending though, and it’s good odds that not
everyone will survive to the credits. Ross Poldark
has already narrowly avoided
death dozens of times, most
recently last week when uber-
meany Merceron had his
thugs hit him over the head
and throw him down
a mineshaft.
That’s as well as beating
Geoffrey Charles black and
blue and putting paid to his
happy ever after with Cecily.
So understandably Ross is out
for revenge – even contemplating
a bit of treason against king and
country by teaming up with the
French to take Merceron and his cronies
down once and for all.
But when he refuses to involve his
wife Demelza (the incandescent
Eleanor Tomlinson) in his plans,
those old insecurities about their
relationship surface and she suspects
his motives could be less than
honourable.
You’d think he’d have learned just how
formidable and capable his missus is
after all these years, but apparently not.
But we’re still hoping there’s a happy
ending in store for Cornwall’s most
passionate and perfect pair.
