STAR WARS EPISODE I: RACER

http://www.gog.com/game/star_wars_episode_i_racer
I’m always looking for ways to get
excited about Star Wars, and GOG’s
re-release ofEpisode I: Racertook
me back to a time where my dad had
a pirated copy of the game (maybe
that’swhysomeoftheaudiowas
missing).It’sstillafunandfastsci-fi

RACE IN SPACE

ASSASSIN’S CREED ORIGINS

http://www.assassinscreed.com
I thought my days ofAssassin’s
Creedwere over, but thanks to a
work assignment – that is,
previewingOdyssey–I’veplayed
something stupid like 20 hours of
Originsin a week. The open layout
makes exploring Egypt a treat. I’m
thinking less about map icons and

SLIDE DOWN A PYRAMID

HITMAN

http://www.hitman.com
I’m gladHitmanhas ditched the
episodic model. It probably confused
regular players who didn’t want to
think too hard about spending £5 per
level. The opportunities system is
great – it lets you play levels like
they’re partly scripted, which is a
refreshingwaytomopup the
approaches to levels you’ve missed.

DRESS UP TO KILL

BEWARE

In this driving-based horror game,
youhavetotryandstayontheroad

chasing you. There’s something
about being relentlessly pursued
while headlights glare into your
rearview mirror that’s really freaky.

LOVERS IN A DANGEROUS
SPACETIME

Attheriskofbeingoneofthose
people who talk about playing games
with their partner and how special it
makes them feel, this is the perfect
game for two people. You control a
spaceship co-operatively, manning
its controls and guns manually while
reacting to the situation.

FLY TOGETHER

THEME HOSPITAL

http://www.gog.com/game/theme_hospital
For research, and later, a bit of fun,
I downloaded Bullfrog’s classic
Theme Hospital on GOG and started
replaying it. The two-decade-old
game is almost too old-looking to
enjoy now, particularly after playing a
bit of Two Point Hospital, but it’ll do
for now while I patiently wait to get
my hands on the latter.

SAVE THE PLANET

LITTLE NIGHTMARES

http://www.bandainamcoent.com/little-nightmares
A small child gets chased by
frightening creatures in this
side-scrolling platform/puzzler that’ll
remind you a little of Limbo and
Inside, both in how it plays and for the
unrelenting horrors thrown at a small
child. Little Nightmares has got more
of a dark fairytale vibe, compared to
Playdead’s offerings, though.
