We love how Mallory is putting a
fresh face on Southern style. The
Atlantan respects classic scale,
fabrics, and furniture. (Bring on the
Chinese Chippendale in droves!) But
she’s also adept at adding pop with
color, pattern, and contemporary art.
“I’d love to see a Rothko or Kandinsky
hanging in Buckingham Palace,” she
says. Now that’s New Trad.
Starrett Hoyt Ringbom
Happy, colorful, and just plain fun. That sums up Starrett—and her rooms. This fashion
plate, based in New York, practically grew up in her mom’s chic boutique, then honed her
design skills under the eyes of Fernando Santangelo and Jonathan Adler. Now Starrett’s
cultured, daring, always-grounded-in-traditional style is turning heads. Ours included.
ANDREW BROWN
Growing up in France and West Africa, this Birmingham, Alabama, designer contracted
incurable wanderlust. His trips to Paris flea markets, Tokyo antique textile shops, and Cape
Town art galleries inspire eclectic rooms that exude comfort. He loves “brown” furniture,
plaster busts, and Palladian architecture. If there’s Tinder for interior design, we swipe right.
