COVENTRY
WITH NOTHING
UNDERNEATH
WHEN the Duchess of Sussex made
a surprise appearance at a photo-
shoot for Smart Works (the charity
with whom she is developing a
clothing line), her choice of blue
striped shirt was a big compliment
to its designer, the lesser-known
label With Nothing Underneath.
Launched in 2017, the Coventry-
based firm was founded by Kent-
born Pip Durell, a former British
Vogue stylist and Tatler editor.
It makes classic, everyday
‘boyfriend’ shirts inspired by
men’s tailoring
and adjusted for
women, with 100
per cent poplin
cotton, sourced
through the
Better Cotton
Initiative (BCI).
