NEWS

IN

BRIEF

Show cancellation
The Essential Collection has
cancelled its 2014 show. The
bridal trade show, which was set
to take place in Warwickshire
from 6 to 8 July, has been axed
after a lack of interest from
visitors and exhibitors.

All change
May was a massive month for
Scottish bridal boutique Jennifer’s
Dresses as the store both
rebranded and moved shops.
The newly-named Jennifer
McGregor Bridal opened the
doors on its sparkling new
boutique on 18 Shore Road,
Aberdour moving from its
previous location at 12 High Street.

Going to the chapel
Miss Bush Bridalwear threw
open the doors on its new
location, the chapel, last month.
Owner Emma Meek
described the move as
“probably one of the most
signifi cant and defi ning
events in Miss Bush’s
history”.

In the last issue of Bridal
Buyer (May/June page 43) an
image was labeled as Frank
Saul, when in fact it was
Mascara, Frank Saul’s award-
winning occasionwear brand.

Back on show
Kitty Chen’s new collection Ivoire
Paris promotes a strong focus on
the back of its gowns featuring
embellished illusion backs,
beading, drapes and intricately
embroidered straps.
The new line will debut at Harrogate in September.
Check out our Harrogate section on pages 49 to 61.

Under one

roof
Creatiques Boutique and
Inspired by Creatiques
will more than triple in
size next month as the
two bridal shops are
combined.
The stores, which are
currently located on
Southsea’s Marmion Road
and Pembroke Road in
Old Portsmouth, will
move to 151 Albert Road,
Southsea on 9 July.
Owners Andrew and
Robert Pearce plan to
expand the Creatiques
business and give
customers a larger choice
of products.

New

partnerships
Two new designer labels have joined
the books at Mathews Bridal Agency.
The agency has taken on Elbeth Gillis
from South Africa and Rembo Styling
from Belgium. Elbeth Gillis dresses
come in silk chiffon, dupion, duchess
silk and Spanish and French laces. The
label is planning expansion across both
the UK and Ireland.
Dresses from the Rembo Styling
collection have a soft bohemian air and
the brand is owned by the same parent
company as Marylise Bridal.
The two labels join Spanish bridal
label Jesus Peiro, who Mathews Bridal
Agency also represents.
