EURO TOUR

With trade shows taking place across Europe, Bridal
Buyer went to get a taste of the bridal fashions from
major Spanish, Italian and German brands.

SPAIN

Barcelona Bridal Week provided a comprehensive look at the
most likely trendsetters for the Spanish market, with lace
likely to still be littering many a Pinterest page. Nonetheless,
fresh trends shone through with a focus on vintage looks
from the 20s, 30s and even 60s, plus a range of romantic
touches from soft silhouettes to fl ower appliqués.

BOHO CHIC – Woven lightweight fabrics, fringing and
asymmetric cuts added to a bohemian air across brands
including YolanCris, which had a distinctly 60s feel to its
collection.

MODERN ROMANCE – Romantic touches were prevalent
across the board from Pronovias to Rosa Clará. Jesus Peiro’s
delicate new collection - Perfume - refl ects the current trend
for soft, smooth and romantic silhouettes with pretty ribbons
and ladylike lace.

LACE – Lace looks to be going absolutely nowhere and lots
and lots of lace was spotted on the Barcelona catwalk. At
Pronovias it featured heavily across the range with fl oral lace
overlays and full-on Chantilly lace outfi ts plus lacy sleeving
at the likes of Franc Sarabia.

SHORT SKIRTING – Although the majority of designers
stuck to full-length styles there was a noticeably increasing
move towards shorter styles. Rosa Clará, for example,
showcased shorter daring ‘cupcake’ styles. Others such as
Inmaculada Garcia altered skirts by adding pockets, pretty
handy from a bride’s point of view!

COLOUR – Who says you have to wear white to your
wedding? Shades of taupe, dove grey and powdery pink
