How has business been so far
this year?
We have had a truly amazing
time since opening the doors at
the end of last year. As well as
featuring on several fantastic
blogs such as Mrs P & P and Boho
Weddings, where one of our brides
is currently contributing to
their Diary of a Bride, we
have also been lucky enough
to be awarded Independent
Retailer of the Year 2014 at
the Wakefi eld Retail Awards,
which was nominated for by
our lovely brides. The feedback
we are receiving from brides
not only face-to-face, but on
Facebook and other social
media platforms, is wonderful
so we really hope that business
continues to grow over the rest
of the year.
What are your best-selling
styles and fabrics?
A lot of our brides travel
considerable distances to buy
our 1950s tea-length dresses
in tulle and lace as they are
looking for something to

match their unique personalities.
Brides who want something a
little less quirky love our beautiful
1920s/1930s-style dresses. We
also regularly get brides looking
for dresses that are suitable for
bohemian, woodland or festival-
themed weddings.

What is the average price of
dresses sold?
Most of our dresses range between
£1,400 and £2,000.
Which are the most popular
colours and styles at the moment
for bridesmaid dresses?
We have made a conscious decision
to sell only bridal gowns, accessories
and headwear at this stage although
we are considering taking on a new
collection of shoes and are already
in discussions with a number of
designers. However, one of our of
bridal gown ranges does offer a
choice of up to 80 coloured sashes
so brides can match them with
bridesmaids’ dresses and the most
popular colours tend to be retro or
royal blue, sage green and blush
pink.
How confi dent are you feeling
about the rest of the year?
It’s been a fantastic year so far; we
love what we do and the feedback
we are getting from brides is
wonderful so, hopefully the rest
of the year will be just as positive.
