HARROGATEHARROGATE

Harrogate has once again been
crowned as the happiest place
to live in Britain. The town was
awarded with the accolade for the
second year running after topping
a survey by property website
Rightmove. Harrogate has this year
also been named as the best place
in the North in a quality of life
survey, as well as the third most
romantic designation for Valentine’s
Day. This year the town was also
heralded as the place to get the best
night’s sleep - A good job as we’ll
certainly all need that after a busy
day at the show!

Going underground

Award-winning bar and restaurant
business Arc Inspirations is opening a
classy new establishment in Harrogate
this summer. The Pit, which will open on
June 28, will be partly buried within the
newly-constructed Harrogate House on The
Ginnel, off Parliament Street. The main
bar, created from sheared concrete, and
dining area, will be below street level and
the space will also include two private
dining rooms, one complete with its own
bar. The upstairs area will house two table
tennis tables and table football for a bit
of fun competition. Their food offer will
be a selection of the most succulent and
tender meat dishes. Twinned with one
of their renowned cocktails, a cold glass
of excellent wine or a craft beer, The Pit
promises to be a very special location.

Rest your head Talking of a good
night’s sleep, Harrogate this September will
provide visitors with a wider choice of hotels. It
has been confi rmed that a shiny new Premier Inn
is scheduled to open in late July. With 107 rooms
there should be plenty of space. A further 25 luxury
bedrooms and suites will also be on offer at West
Park Hotel, which is set to re-open in June following
refurbishment work.
