Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant
chain will launch in time to feed
hungry diners at this year’s
show. The restaurant, which is
reported to be opening on 13
July, will be set over two fl oors
in the new Lateral Property
development on Parliament
Street. The Essex chef’s new joint
opens just a few months on from
Italian chain Carluccio’s opening
on Station Square.

Ale have

a pint
If you’re a fan of
real ale then The
Harrogate Tap could be right
up your street. Handily located
right next to the station the
boozer calls itself a “World Beer
Freehouse” with an emphasis
on serving both traditional and
modern ales. The bar offers a
choice of beer sourced from
across the globe, dispensed from
14 traditional cask handpulls
and 14 continental swing-
handled taps, set against a
backdrop of over 150 different
bottled world beers.

GETTING THERE...

For those looking to travel by
train to Harrogate the earlier you
buy the better the price. In fact,
Trainline says you could save an
average of 43% on your train ticket
if you book in advance rather than
buying on the day. Advance tickets
are usually released 12 weeks
prior to the date of travel, so the
earlier you book the more likely
you are to save.
You should be able to bag a ticket
from London’s King’s Cross to
Harrogate from £38.50 return. For
those coming from Birmingham
New Street, returns should start
from £38.80 and for a return to
Portsmouth from £38.70.
From Nottingham to Harrogate
a return should set you back
anything upwards of £46 and if
you are coming from Glasgow
tickets are from £22.50 each way.
