The Nicki Flynn label will turn heads
with its directional collection of slim-
fi tting, fi shtails and full-skirted gowns
in vintage shades. Meanwhile, True
Bridesmaids will present a collection
of gowns with accents of lace giving a
romantic and feminine edge.
This season the Luna Bridesmaid
Collection makes a statement with 1920s
inspired shapes and beadworks. The
collection features statement laces and
slinky silhouettes for an elegant feel.
The 1920s is still having a heavy infl uence
across the bridal industry, particularly on
accessories. Jupon has already experienced a
high demand for its Great Gatsby-inspired hair
accessories; a bridal hair corsage complete
with netting has been a particular standout.
Emmerling says the vintage style is still a
must-have and gold is, as a result, making a
comeback as a basic background colour. Pearls
are also all the rage for the same reason. Backs
are coming under the spotlight this year and
subsequently Emmerling has seen increasing
sales of its backettes as not everyone wants to
show quite so much back as fashion dictates
and some want to make their backs more sexy.
Brides want more pounds per wear, believes
footwear brand Benjamin Adams and so its
new collection veers slightly away from the
typical bridal look, with colours crossing into
nude, Champagne and taupe in suede and laser-
cut leather. Sandals and T-bars also feature in
the new collection that is very vintage but also
very now. BB
Key pieces include full-length gowns
in Champagne-coloured lace and
sumptuous scarlet. Glamour oozes from
other pieces in the range, with a silver
sequined fl oor-length dress a particular
highlight along with a stunning navy
number complete with a cut-out back.
Jewel tones of emerald, sapphire and
amethyst will sparkle on the Alfred Sung stand
come September, while Rainbow Club’s range
also offers pops of royal blue and ruby red.
There is no let up on lace this year and
ladylike looks are prime at Lusan Mandongus,
whether that be lacy layers over pleated chiffons
or slim-fi tting lace frocks. Lace is also key at
Special Day with layers used on skirting to
create two-tone effects, while other styles use
the fabric on sleeves or as detachable jackets.
Lace is still going strong for Victoria Kay
and the newest range offers a selection of
gowns, from slim-line lace dresses in ivory and
scarlet to taupe-coloured A-lines with a layer of
black lace. Illusion tops and backs also prevail,
along with sleeves.
From the True Bride main label there is
a combination of pretty laces and feminine
silhouettes that bring together an ultra
romantic bridal collection. Retailers can
expect soft and pretty tulles, delicate laces and
dramatic sparkly embellishments.
with mesh embellished with beads, drapes and
delicately-embroidered straps.
The JLM stable will have a whole host on
offer in September from soft chiffons and
delicate lace dresses at Ti Adora by Alvina
Valenta and eye-catching sparkle trims at
Blush by Hayley Paige to daring plunge
necklines and long sleeves at Tara Keely.
Jim Hjelm Occasions will tap into the
trend for light pastel shades with powder blue
and taupe tones, meanwhile Alvina Valenta
will provide both chiffon dresses plus more
structured satin numbers.
Also on the occasionwear front, at Harrogate
Mascara will have a range of styles on display.
