EMMERDALE
ITV, 7pm
It’s been unbearable for Kerry and Amy ever
since the factory fire as they struggle to cope
with their guilt. So they’ve decided the best thing
to do is to take Kyle, leave town and start again
somewhere where they don’t have to face those
people every day.
Amy isn’t super keen but is going along with it,
but when she sneaks in to get Kyle’s passport
and is caught red-handed by Nate, she ends up
breaking down and confessing everything to him.
EASTENDERS
BBC1, 8pm
As the parties continue, all the stags and hens
decide to join forces at E20. Although the groom-
to-be isn’t actually there as Mick learns when he
takes a rather worse-for-wear Linda home.
Halfway has actually been with Ben, who we
later see keeping a rather smug eye on Mel. She’s
making her final preparations to leave Walford
with her escaped jailbird son Hunter, but Halfway
has secretly swiped the keys to the basement
where she’s hiding him.
THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE
OFF: AN EXTRA SLICE
Channel 4, 8pm
An hour and a bit of tent life each week
is just not enough, so this Extra Slice of
Bake Off goodness is very welcome.
Once again hosted by Jo Brand in
front of a studio audience of GBBO
obsessives, each week she chats to a
panel of celebrity fans.
There’s a look back over everything
that happened in the tent that week,
some nuggets of unseen footage, and
an interview with the baker who was
first out – support worker Dan, who
was an absolute sweetheart.
And there’s comedian Tom Allen
swanning his way around the studio,
judging the bakes brought in by the
audience – as well as the audience
themselves.
This time those on the panel are
Frank Skinner, Stephen Mangan and
Scarlett Moffatt, who reveal what they
think of this year’s line-up of bakers.
DOG EAT DOG
Rinder won’t

THE ROB RINDER
VERDICT
Channel 4, 10pm
Who’s he, you might ask? It’s
Judge Rinder, of course. Aka the
cutting courtroom king of
daytime TV, aka the fella who was
a runner-up on Strictly 2016, aka
a seriously intelligent and
naturally funny chap who is
taking the helm of this new late-
night topical newsy comedy show.
There are no previews available
as it’s recorded near-enough live,
but according to the blurb from
Channel 4, Rob will be “mixing his
razor-sharp legal mind and
hilarious hot takes to satirically
dissect what is going on with the
world today, and searching for
the elusive things that might
make Britain a better place”.
Sounds good to us, not to
mention much-needed.
Rob will be joined in the studio
by different celebrity guests
across the series, including
comedians Katherine Ryan, Big
Narstie and Tom Allen.
He’ll also be quizzing high-
profile politicians.
Fairy tale to
wild fantasy
BLOOMIN’ ECK Orlando
and Cara Delevingne star
in this new TV drama
CARNIVAL ROW
Amazon Prime
IF you’ve been feeling bereft
since the end of Game of
Thrones and are already
counting down the days to the
start of Philip Pullman’s His
Dark Materials, then this new
drama series could be the
perfect thing to fill the gap.
It’s epically gorgeous and set in a
mystical world of fairies, fauns and
trolls – as well as humans – in a city
that looks like a magical 1800s
London. And despite the fact that
it’s a period piece full of people with
wings, horns and animal legs, when
it comes to the themes of politics
and fascism, it’s actually hugely
relevant to what’s happening in the
world right now.
It’s led by Brit A-listers Orlando
Bloom and Cara Delevingne, with
other cast members including
GoT’s Indira Varma, Outlander’s
Andrew Gower, Misfits’ Karla
Crome and Chernobyl star
Jared Harris.
Orlando plays human
detective Rycroft
Philostrate, known as
Philo, who falls in love
with fairy Vignette Stone-
moss. But as war takes
over their world, they are
separated.
And locals are forced to flee to
cities such as The Burge in the
Empires of Man.
But the fairy folk are very
much not welcome –
forced to work for the
humans practically as
slaves, used to indulge
their basest passions (yep,
there’s a fairy brothel) and
subjected to hatred and
violence in their adopted home of
Carnival Row.
It’s stunning, intriguing,
and rather different, as you
might expect.

GOOD GUY Eileen

CORONATION STREET
ITV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm
When you think of Weatherfield, you don’t think
of people-trafficking gangs and guns, but that’s
how it’s going down on the cobbles tonight.
We now know that Eileen’s fella Jan is a good
guy working undercover for the police, and he’s
asked her to leave the country with him.
But whether he’ll even make it through the
court case looks in doubt as those he’s informed
on turn up on the street looking for him – armed
and dangerous.
