RWB x Rutledge Wood...We Never
Saw This Collab Coming!
PHOTOS CHAD BURDETTE
There have been some rumors
floating around that a certain
automotive celeb would be mixing
things up in the car world in a very big
way. The man in question is Rutledge
Wood, and he is building a project
car that crosses worlds and mirrors
his broad tastes. His qualities as a
NASCAR analyst, Super Street kid
at heart, and die-hard sports car fan all
came together in his newest toy: an RWB
Porsche 911. The 964 widened by Akira
Nakai is painted in Sonoma green out of
an Audi color pallet and rests atop gold
Forgeline wheels on KW coilovers. But
the sound Rut’s 911 makes doesn’t sound
“Porsche-y” at all. That’s because it isn’t
powered by an air-cooled flat-six, but a Summit Racing–built LS3 good for
525 hp. It’s something to love and something to hate for many, but the most
accepting gearheads will definitely give it some looks. Oh, and make sure to
keep an eye out, ’cause you’ll be seeing a feature on it in an upcoming issue.
