BLISSFUL ESCAPE
the immaculate beach (which is
a 30-second walk away) or of the
beautifully-manicured gardens.
While there is an (exceptionally
well stocked!) beach bar on the
resort, there is no restaurant.
Instead the staff will arrange
for your fridges to be stocked or
highly talented chefs to come to
your villa and cook at your behest
- everything from pancakes for
breakfast to continental style surf
and turf on the beach for dinner.
If it’s a bespoke, intimate wedding
that you’re after – again that’s
no trouble! You could take over
the whole resort with family and
friends and truly feel like you own
the island.
All of the food on the island is,
quite simply, to die for. Lobster
and fresh fish is incredible
everywhere. Restaurants range
from the famous celeb-spotting
Bananas to the low key, chill-on-
the-beach style Lime (although this
place transforms into a crazy and
really fun beach-party haunt on a
Friday night).
Nothing is too much trouble for
the outstanding resort team. They
can arrange bookings at the many
and varied local restaurants, taxi
rides, hikes through the rain forest,
massages or yoga on the beach,
catamaran trips, water sports –
whatever you want, whenever you
want it. You can even have your
own private butler!
If there’s one thing you have to
do while you’re there, it’s a horse-
back ride on the beach at sunset.
We’d never ridden before but
within minutes the team at Nevis
Equestrian (nevishorseback.com)
had us riding like pros. A memory
I’ll never forget.
Best for: An unforgettable
honeymoon experience, where you
can de-stress and feel like royalty
for a week or two.
Getting there: We flew from
London Gatwick to Antigua with
Virgin. British Airways operate a
flight from London Gatwick to St
Kitts. Transfers are available from
both locations by air or ferry.
