ROSE’S BIG ROLE
Anne and Kris might be the big
names in Sanditon, but it’s Rose
Williams at the centre of the story
as young Charlotte Heywood.
‘It’s an absolute dream role,’ says
25-year-old Rose. ‘Charlotte has
to learn the hard way that things
aren’t always what they seem. Her
journey is about understanding
that you have to experience things
before passing judgment. I was
drawn to the fact that it was a
Jane Austen people might not be
familiar with. Her work is all about
intention and where a character’s
heart really lies and those themes

While the stars loved the period costumes, the
outfits come with their own challenges...
‘The trousers were very tight,’ laughs
Kris. ‘I won’t be having any more children,
that’s for sure!’
Whereas Anne relished the voluminous
skirts. ‘When you are shot from the back
and wearing crinolines, it doesn’t matter
how big your bottom is,’ she explains. ‘You
can leave the room with confidence!’‘The
