SPOTLIGHT ON...
Every week, we road test the latest beauty innovations

Dr Dennis Gross Professional
Grade IPL Dark Spot
Concentrated Serum
£99, Space NK
This high-performance serum gives
professional results without having to
go to New York to Dr Dennis Gross’s
clinic. It contains a super-blend of
active ingredients: vitamin C,
brightening fruit extracts and
various acids. Our tester saw
a noticeable reduction in the
appearance of her pigmentation
after just a few weeks, with
friends even asking if she’d
recently had a facial treatment.

Eucerin Anti-Pigment
Dual Serum
£38, Boots & Superdrug
The hero product from Eucerin’s
new Anti-Pigment skincare range,
this two-in-one serum both
lessens the appearance of existing
dark spots and also prevents new
ones forming. One half contains
an active ingredient that reduces
the production of melanin, while
the other half is rich in hyaluronic
acid – together they smooth and
even the skin tone in as little as
two weeks.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Gel Cream
£68, harrods.com
This weightless gel-textured cream
contains a cutting-edge complex
that targets existing melanin
in the upper layers of the skin and
the production of further melanin
in deeper layers of the
skin, resulting in a fresh, radiant,
hydrated complexion. There’s also
an overnight cream/mask.

No7 Laboratories Dark Spot Correcting
Booster Serum £38, Boots
Want to treat a targeted area of pigmentation rather than
the whole face? This concentrated product has six times
the lightening, brightening technology of other serums.
Three-quarters of women claimed their dark
spots appeared faded after eight
weeks of use.

This week: INNOLUXE FOAM

Our guinea pig Lynne Hyland tests
a new in-salon treatment to prevent
and mend the damage caused by
colouring your hair

Our verdict
Lynne says, ‘I’ve tried lots of
rebonding treatments to protect
my hair from colour damage and
while hairdressers rave about
them, sometimes it’s hard to

notice a difference when you
look in the mirror.
‘With INNOluxe Foam though,
something remarkable happened.
I walked into the salon with dull,
dry hair and walked out with silky,
glossy locks that looked like they’d
never encountered styling irons or
hair dye.
‘It took about 25-30 minutes on
top of a blow-dry, and most of that
was spent sitting in the chair.
Afterwards my hair was completely
transformed – it looked, felt and
even moved differently.
‘It also felt like a treat to flick
through magazines instead of
having my neck bent backwards
at the basin. The foam did still need
to be washed out but that just left
time for a nice head massage.
‘My hair wasn’t as shiny once
I’d washed it myself, but it was
still noticeably softer and better
behaved. It’s worth buying the
at-home treatment, INNOluxe Elixir
V2, £25, to help prolong the results.’

INNOluxe Foam costs from £20 at salons nationwide, call 03300

What’s the big deal?
INNOluxe Foam is the latest thing in salon hair repair. It’s
a rebonding treatment which mends the internal keratin
bonds in hair that get frayed and broken by colouring
and heat styling.
The treatment is usually added on to a blow-dry and/
or cut. It’s not the first rebonder on the market, but
where this one differs is that it comes as a foam applied
in the styling chair. Normally you’re stuck at the basin
while the repair treatment is left on your hair.
With INNOluxe Foam, the idea is you spend more time
doing the fun stuff at the hairdressers, like reading mags,
faffing on Facebook or drinking tea.
