BALLOON FIESTA No visit to the Duke City is complete without an
experience at the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the
largest hot-air balloon festival in the world. For nine days each October, the
fi esta features breathtaking mass ascensions at dawn and ethereal tethered
balloon glows in the evenings. This event features over 500 balloons piloted by
enthusiasts from all over the globe and draws nearly 1 million guests each year.

SPUR LINE SUPPLY CO. Originally launched out of a refurbished
Airstream trailer with the goal of featuring local makers, artisans, and
entrepreneurs, Spur Line Supply Co. is a curated collection of shops with a
distinctly Southwestern fl air. Located in the city’s historic Sawmill District, the
space features local brands and sells a variety of products, including handmade
leather goods and jewelry plus locally sourced organic beauty products.

LOS POBLANOS HISTORIC INN & ORGANIC FARM Surrounded by
fragrant lavender fi elds and cottonwood trees, this inn is a rural escape. Guests
can enjoy a meal at Campo, the on-site restaurant, which serves farm-to-table
fare with an unhindered view of the Sandia Mountains all while peacocks roam
the grounds. Visit the Farm Shop for freshly baked bread and locally made,
lavender-infused products.

EL PINTO


An Albuquerque landmark for nearly
60 years, El Pinto serves classic
New Mexican fare in a traditional
hacienda-style setting. Situated in the
heart of the city’s scenic Rio Grande
River Valley on an impressive 12 acres,
the restaurant has an adjacent salsa
manufacturing facility; patrons
can take home a taste of El Pinto’s
famously spicy salsa. The highlight
of the restaurant is the fi ve garden
patios, where guests can enjoy the
city’s mild weather and linger over
dinner late into the evening.
