Concealed Carry Handguns – August 2019

BLACKHAWK!
T-SERIES
Blackhawk! has introduced the fi rst of
its American-made T-Series holsters that
provides an extra degree of security
for duty or rigorous outdoor use. The
holsters provide excellent weapon re-
tention with an intuitive release mecha-
nism positioned where the thumb lands
when you take a grip on the pistol.

We tested one of the Level 2 retention
models and there is no way your gun is
coming out without hitting the release.
And that’s nearly impossible by anyone
other than the one wearing the holster
as the release is located between the
holster and the belt attachment, not on
the outside of the holster as with some
other designs. When drawing the gun,
you take a deep shooter’s grip on it and
in doing so the thumb of the shooting
hand naturally closes around the release
mechanism. The pistol can be drawn
quickly and smoothly. No special training
is required to master the draw.

The holster is made of a fi berglass-rein-
forced nylon with a soft-touch polymer
liner. It’s durable without being bulky,
sturdy without being heavy. Models
with additional Level 3 retention are
also available and it’s anticipated that
models accommodating weapons lights
and refl ex optics will be coming soon.
MSRP: $129.

FOBUS C SERIES
The new C Series of holsters from Fobus
are simple inside-the-waistband holsters
designed to be rugged and reliable while
staying affordable. They’re constructed of
reinforced injection-molded polymer and
feature a sweat guard that provides a
barrier between your gun and your body.
A J-clip attaches behind your belt to keep
the holster in place while still allowing
you to tuck in your shirt.
MSRP: $19.

Q-SERIES FOR SIG P
The Q-Series Stealth holster is now
available for the SIG Sauer P365 pistol.
The holster was designed by Gary
Quesenberry, competitive shooter and
former lead fi rearms instructor with

the Department of Homeland Security.
And you might remember him as a
participant on the Top Shot and Top Shot
All-Stars television shows.

The Q-Series Stealth is about as simple
as it is ingenious. It’s a minimal in-
side-the-waistband rig that is basically a
Kydex trigger guard cover with a spring
steel belt clip. It keeps the handgun
safe, secure and quickly accessible with-
out the bulk of most other holsters.

The holster can be used with or without a
belt and allows for your shirt to be tucked
in if desired. It was originally designed as
an appendix holster, but we’ve found it
works very well for strong-side carry as
well. The clip can be mounted to either
side of the holster, making it ambidex-
trous. You can remove the clip altogether
too and secure the holster to a belt loop
with the included length of paracord. A
video on the company’s website instructs
you exactly how to do that.

An added safety feature is that you
can drop or insert a magazine and
manipulate the slide of your pistol all
while keeping the trigger guard safely
covered by having the holster in place.
In addition to the new SIG P365 model,
Q-Series Stealth holsters are available for
most Glocks, Springfi eld Armory XD, SIG
P320 and P250, and S&W Shield. Match-
ing inside-the-waistband magazine
carriers are also available.
MSRP: $39.

MORE FROM SNAGMAG
SnagMag continues to update its lineup
of American-made magazine carriers.
With the addition of custom fi ts for such
pistols as the SIG Sauer P365 and Glock
48, the company offers a model for most
major handgun makes and models.

Think about it. You have a holster for
carrying your gun and a pocket clip on
your everyday carry knife. Both are de-
signed to keep those things positioned
where you can get to them in a hurry.
So, why don’t you have a similar setup
for your spare pistol magazine? We’ve
tried lots of different products, but the
SnagMag can’t be beat for being a
lightweight, sturdy, simple and discreet

way to keep a spare magazine in your
pocket positioned for quick access.

The SnagMag cradles your magazine in
a Kydex frame—tailored for your specifi c
handgun mag—and attaches to your
pocket with a sturdy metal clip. From
the outside it appears to be merely
the clip of an ordinary pocket knife. If
you need more ammo, you’re probably
going to need it in a hurry. You don’t
want to be fi shing around in your pocket
among your keys and loose change. The
SnagMag keeps your spare mag off the
bottom of your pocket where lint gathers.
And it keeps the magazine oriented
properly so as you draw it from the pock-
et, your index fi nger rides along the front
edge of the magazine, properly aligned
for quick insertion in your pistol—no more
twirling a magazine around trying to
fi gure which way is up. And as you draw
the magazine, a hook-like projection on
the back of the SnagMag catches on the
pocket, so the mag comes out, but the
SnagMag stays put.

The SnagMag was designed as a
solution for plainclothes law enforce-
ment offi cers by one of their own, but
it makes an excellent piece of gear for
anyone who carries concealed.
MSRP: $34.
