Everything is a compromise and this
Kimber is designed to be easy to carry.
Consider that my beloved Ruger GP100
with a 4-inch barrel weighs 40 ounces
and this 3-inch Kimber weighs just
25.1 ounces. That’s a big difference.
But I would be more likely to carry the
Kimber as an everyday gun while the
Ruger sees more woods use.

At the range, I fi red the .38 Special
ammo fi rst and achieved good
groups at 15 yards. With the .357
loads, the gun was jumping off my
rest quite a bit and I had to settle
back in for each shot, so groups
opened up a bit. The barrel was also
heating up noticeably more with the
hotter .357 ammo. Still, accuracy
was very good. I threw a 5-inch

FORTABLY IN

DESTANTIS

FLEX-TUK

While testing the Kimber K6s DA/SA 3-inch
revolver, I carried it in DeSantis Gunhide’s
Flex-Tuk leather inside-the-waistband
holster. When carrying a classy revolver with
nice wooden grips, I think an equally classy
leather holster is the only way to go. The
holster secures to the belt with a single clip,
either a “C” clip or “J” clip. Both are included,
along with a hex wrench to swap them out.
The design of the clips allows for your shirt
to be tucked in. The holster is adjustable for
cant and can be positioned for strong-side
carry, cross-draw or anything in between.
The model I used was a very attractive tan
leather, but it’s available in black as well. It
retails for a suggested $65.99.
