Smartphones have become serious video
creation tools in the last few years. Whether
you are an amateur vlogger or a
professional looking for a portable solution
to your video requirements, a stabiliser is a
necessity for creating professional-quality
videos. The Digitek 3-axis gimbal is one of
the versatile and value-for-money
smartphone gimbals available in the market.


The Digitek gimbal allows stabilisation
along all three axes of motion during video
capture. The device offers a flexible camera
mount that allows you to mount most
smartphones available today. The control
panel includes a joystick, which lets you
control the movement of the gimbal, a
mode button, a power/record button and
two status LEDs. The snapshot button at
the back lets you capture a still image, and
the zoom lever at the side can be used to
zoom in and out. The gimbal includes a USB
port to charge the smartphone.


The device connects seamlessly with the
Gimbal Pro app, which can be downloaded
from the Play Store or App Store. The app
includes an editor, which lets you do basic
video editing. The Digitek smartphone
gimbal is lightweight and has an
engineering plastic body. You can adjust
the orientation of the smartphone to
vertical or horizontal, and the primary arm
can be adjusted for stability. The bundled
tripod stand can be attached to the base of
the gimbal for independent operation.


The device provides a pitch angle of up
to 325 degrees, roll angle of up to 160
degrees and pan angle of 300 degrees. It
has a standard operational time of around
12 hours. The gimbal weighs 440 g. The
Digitek gimbal retails at an Rs.10,995, but
Amazon and Flipkart offer up to 50
percent discount.
