youona similarjourneywithKaywhobattlesherownmonsters

inaseaofloneliness.

Afterplayingthroughfour-oddhours,wecansafelysaythe

SeaofSolitudeisnotagame.Rather,it’sanexperiencethatone

needstogothroughtolearnaboutKay’s lifeandhowshebecame

sodepressedandlonelywithheractions(orinactions).

The premiseofthegameissimple.YouplayasKayandmove

inaboatinthe submergedcityoronfootwhenthe waterlevel

changesasyouprogress.Lonelinessisadarkplacewhere

thoughtsgowildandwiththegamefullofmetaphors,you’ll

finddifferentelementsrepresentinga characterorfeeling.For

instance,theboatinwhichKaymovesaroundinthe submerged

cityishersafe spacewherethe seamonstercannothurtheror

the airventsina particularlevelrepresentsherfather’s anger

tryingtorepairit withherfamily andherboyfriend. There’s no

realchallengetoprogressthrough.Yes,therearefewpuzzlesto

solvebutthey’renotasdifficult asyou’dexpect.Thereare

collectiblestofind,like messagesinabottle orshooingseagulls

awaybuttheydon’t really addanythingtothe game.Fortrophy

hunters on PS4,however,the game is an easyplatinum.
