GH SEAL STAR
ERASABLE MARKERS

When GH’s Media & Tech Lab first tested
Pilot Pen’s permanent-looking marker
pens, they earned high praise for their
erasability (the caps’ rubber ends don’t shed!),
quality and design. This year, the brand
introduced the Frixion Fineliner, a felt-tip
version that lets you create thin and colorful
lines — and remove them just as easily
whenever a do-over is needed.

Boot Shaper
Cut two sections of a pool noodle
and place them inside your tall boots
so the footwear will stay upright.

Bucket Filler
Place one end on the faucet and the
other inside a bucket so you won’t have
to hoist it out of the sink when full.

Pincushion
Cut off a small piece of the noodle,
apply double-stick tape to one side and
secure it to your sewing machine.

Hacks

Since the kiddos are out of the water
and back in school, GH’s resident life
hacker, Meaghan Murphy, found new
ways to put these floaties to use.

Party Like It’s 1958

Napkins, Of Course
You’ll want to provide a cocktail-size
napkin for each guest. Today, gay little
paper ones are seen everywhere, with
a few cherished linen ones making an
appearance now and again.

Just Two, Please
Another happy trend is the serving of
only one, two or three kinds of nibblers,
with plenty of each. Preparation is
certainly easier, and the results more
appealing than an overwhelming array.

A Drink Is a Must
A drink of some kind is a prerequisite
when a nibbler is served. The two are
inseparable whether the occasion is a
prelude to dinner or a party in itself.

Be Dashing, Be Daring
Don’t be trite in selecting the container
for displaying your wares. A cake stand
needn’t be confined to cake, nor a bread
basket to bread. Appetizers lend them-
selves perfectly to imaginative serving.

Appetizers were all the rage, so much so that we wrote a book about
them. Peek inside GH’s Appetizer Book — we’ll let you decide if its
charming advice stands the test of time.
