in his 48-million dollar 12-tonne DSV Limiting
Factor submarine as part of his Five Deeps Ex-
pedition. Regarding the Molloy Deep, he says:
“En route to the deepest point in the Arctic
Ocean, we will be stop in the area where the
Titanic came to rest to monitor the status of
the wreck, check the conditions of the seabed
and the surrounding environment”. Vescovo
is described by Raynald Aeschlimann, CEO of
Omega which partnered him in the most diffi-
cult of the Five Deeps – the Mariana Trench in
the Pacific Ocean - as “incredibly determined
about everything he does but the journey is
the most important thing for him not the des-
tination. That is why I was particularly proud
to put our horological experience and skills at
his service”.
What this amounted to in short was the crea-
tion of an extraordinary bespoke watch capa-
ble of withstanding the crushing pressure of
up to 15,000 metres beneath the sea which
is 4,000 metres deeper than the Challenger
Deep. That timepiece is the Seamaster Planet
Ocean Ultra Deep Professional and it was pre-
