HE past few months have
been a roller coaster
for MILEY CYRUS and
LIAM HEMSWORTH. In
November last year they
lost their Malibu, California, home in
a wildfire and just a month later they
tied the knot during an intimate
wedding at their Tennessee home.
But sadly it hasn’t lasted: the couple
announced their split just eight
months later.
”Liam and Miley have agreed to
separate at this time,” a rep for the
Wrecking Ball singer told People
earlier this month.
“Ever-evolving, changing as
partners and individuals, they’ve
decided this is what’s best while
they both focus on themselves and
[their] careers.”
News of their split came as a
shock to fans but according to
insiders their decision to end things
wasn’t too surprising to those who
knew them as a couple.
“They’ve been trying to make it
work for months now but haven’t felt
they were connecting on the same
level that they felt when they got
married last year. It’s been a rough
year,” the insider dished.
Liam is said to be “focused on a
more simplified lifestyle while Miley
has been preparing for a new wave
of her music career”. She’s ready to
put out music and get backto touring and performing. They
just grew apart,” the source says.
“After they reunited, everyone
thought they were this perfect
couple, but they still had a lot of
issues. They’re not on the same
page when it comes to a lot of
fundamental things that make
a relationship work.”
The insider claims that one of
the biggest issues was starting a
family. While Liam is keen to follow
in the footsteps of his older brother
Chris and settle down and have
kids, the singer recently told Elle
magazine she refuses to have
children.
“We’re getting handed a piece-of-
shit planet, and I refuse to hand that
down to my child. Until I feel like my
kid would live on an earth with fish in
the water, I’m not bringing in another
person to deal with that,” she
proclaimed.
During the bombshell interview
Miley also branded her marriage,
“confusing, complex and modern”.
The Climb star has always been
open about her struggle about being
”queer” in a hetero relationship, and
described her marriage as “new age”.
“I mean, do people really think that
I’m at home in a f**king apron
cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero
relationship, but I am still sexually
attracted to women.”
