Adirondack Life – September 2019

(Dana P.) #1
As a passionate hunter and angler on her family’s 12,500-acre Hamilton County estate, Paulina Bran-
dreth made her name writing articles for publications such as Field and Stream and books about the
sporting life, including Trails of Enchantment (1930). Well, not quite her name—she was published under
the pseudonym Paul Brandreth, and often preferred to dress in men’s clothing.
