TECH INSTALL FABRICATE UPGRADE

single-wiper system to a dual wiper
linkage setup designed to fit behind
the stock interior header panel. The
kit includes a heavy-duty, two-speed,
12V motor, all mounting brackets,
bronze oilite bushed transmissions,
linkage, wiring harness, switch, and
polished stainless wiper arms and
blades. They even include an easy-to-
use drill jig to enlarge the driver-side
mounting hole and drill the passenger
side hole if your truck was originally
equipped with a single wiper unit.
Let’s follow along as Roth shows us
just how easy it is to install the new
system.

10 The original, single-wiper vacuum
motor has seen better days, so instead of
rebuilding it we decided to give the truck
an upgrade.

11 In order to
prepare the cab for
the electric dual
wiper conversion
our kit came with a
drill jig plate. Once
the drill alignment
bushings are
installed the plate
was secured in place
to the driver side
wiper motor hole
using a 5 ⁄ 16 -inch hex
head bolt and nut.

12 With the locating tab hook secured
in place on both sides to the windshield
rubber recess area a 5 ⁄ 16 -inch transfer
punch was used on the passenger
side to locate the hole for the wiper
transmission.

13 The drill jig plate was then removed,
allowing a 5 ⁄ 16 -inch pilot hole to be drilled
into the cab for the passenger side
wiper transmission.
