TECH INSTALL FABRICATE UPGRADE

19 Finally a small round file was sued to
deburr the area and prepare it for use.

20 Here you can see one of the
completed mounting holes for securing
the wiper transmission to both the driver
and passenger side. At this time you should
test-fit the wiper transmissions for fitment
from inside the cab.

21 Inside the cab, the support bracket drill
jig was mounted in place using two screws
in the existing holes. A^3 ⁄ 16 -inch-diameter
transfer punch was then used to locate the
centers of the required mounting holes.

22 While wearing safety glasses, the two^3 ⁄ 16 -inch
holes were drilled into the header panel for use in
mounting the wiper motor support bracket.

23 One call to Chevs
of the 4 0’s was all
it took to have the
New Port Engineering
DeLuxe “Clean Wipe”
Wiper Drive system
delivered. The kit
included everything
pictured to get the
job done.

24-26 Slide the alignment sleeves onto each of the wiper transmissions and be sure to
face the alignment pins forward to face the header panel.

27 Establish the wiper assembly in the
header panel to get started. From outside
the cab install all mounting hardware,
including the wiper transmission bezels and
gaskets.

28 Then install
the support
bracket in place
and secure it to
the header panel
and main bracket.
Aside from final
wiring, this is how
the unit looks
when mounted to
the header panel.

29 The kit
includes a two-
speed wiper motor
control switch and
wiring diagram,
which makes it a
snap to handle. We
will set our final
wiring up when the
truck gets rewired
in the near future.

31 Like magic, the
installation was
completed. Thanks
to Chevs of the
4 0’s and New Port
Engineering our
hauler should be
able to handle any
adverse conditions
encountered on
the road ahead.

30 To c omplete
the installation the
polished stainless
steel wiper arms
and blades were
set into position
by Roth.
