Québec-based EV manufacturer The Lion Electric Com-
pany has launched an electric Class 8 urban truck, the
Lion8. The truck, funded in part by the Québec govern-
ment’s Climate Change Action Plan, will be commercial-
ized this fall.
The Lion8 will have a range of 250 miles, and was de-
signed for North American weather and road conditions.
The truck has pre-orders from buyers including Société
des Alcools du Québec, which is set to receive the first
truck.
“The government is pleased to have contributed $8.6
million to the success of this promising initiative and to
have contributed to the electrification of transportation
in Québec,” said Pierre Fitzgibbon, Québec’s Minister of

Economy and Innovation. “The Lion Electric Company
and its partners TM4, AddÉnergie Technologies, and
Solution Centum Adetel Transportation have combined
their efforts and expertise to develop a zero-emission
