Q

I wear a lot of black and I am not a
big fan of colour, but I know I can’t
wear black to my daughter’s wedding!
Can you help me find something suitably
stylish for the big day that isn’t too dark?
is is your season! High summer 2014 is all about
‘monochrome madness’ and don’t worry, although
all-black is not the done thing for weddings, it is
absolutely ne and considered super-stylish to
wear an outt with black contrast. Condici’s style
70782 (top right) is a perfect example of modern
wedding chic, combining two of the major trends
of the season: lace and monochrome. is beautiful
outt will gently coax you out from under your
security blanket of black clothes and your daughter
will be thrilled to see you looking so glamorous!
e top of the dress is beautiful black and white
lace with a short sleeve, and the georgette layers are
attering on all gure shapes.

Q

The colour theme for my
daughter’s wedding is pastels
with overtones of very light metallic
shades. Obviously I want to look my
best but I want to avoid looking too
similar colour-wise to the bride. What’s
your advice?
Pastels are failsafe wedding colours that are
timeless and elegant. ey are always fashionable
and don’t date so you’ll look back at photos of
your daughter’s wedding in years to come and
know that you looked fantastic. A teeny bit of
texture can add a point of interest to a head-to-
toe pastel outt, and style 11240 (le) in ‘blush’ is
made in beautiful cloqué fabric with subtle
texture, which is gorgeous and also gives you a
slick, clean silhouette. e dress has so pleats
around the neckline and a touch of sparkle with
beading under the bustline. Or, if you don’t fancy
being pretty in pink and want to try some
metallic tones, something in luxurious silk such
as 90356 (below) might be more your style. In
platinum and cream, with a slightly darker shade
close to your face, you are certain to complement
the bride without cramping her style. is
gorgeous style has stunning pearl and diamante
beading and applique, so you can keep your
accessories simple with just a pearl necklace for
classic elegant mother-of-the-bride style.

Q

My son’s wedding will be at a
glamorous city venue and both
the ceremony and reception will be
taking place under the same roof, with
the celebrations going on late into the
night. I feel like the traditional ‘dress
and jacket’ look might be too much
but I am worried that if I wear a dress
on its own, I won’t look like the mum of
the groom. What would you suggest?
A fabulous single dress can be just as dressy as
the more conventional ‘dress and jacket’ or
‘dress and coat’ look – you just need to choose
the right one! Keeping in mind that you will be
in the same indoor venue all day with the
reception continuing until the early hours, you
need something not only amazing but that will
also go the distance.
Condici’s 11246 (above right) is perfect for your
big day. A striking ruched print dress with
monochrome tones and pink owers is nished
o beautifully with ruched tulle shoulder
feature, intricate embroidery details and elbow-
length sleeves. is demure dress will take you
from ceremony to spinning around on the
danceoor, and you can easily wear it again.
Don’t forget, this is your day to shine – bride
aside; you’re front row.
