ENGLISH

ELEGANCE

The theme for the day was English,
eortless and classic. We instantly fell in
love with Babington House – it’s the perfect
setting for a traditional country wedding,
with a bohemian twist. We invited 100 close
family and friends to our special day.
We wanted to keep our suits a secret
from one another. I wore a deep green and
black Dolce & Gabbana two-piece and Ian
wore a blue Alexander McQueen mohair
and wool three-piece suit.
As night fell, we hung shimmering
nightlights and lit two re cauldrons in
the outdoor area. Tealights lit the pathways
to guide the guests back to their bedrooms.
Despite both of us working in events,
booking the entertainment was hard. We
heard pianist Carl Joseph at V Festival; he
can do so wedding ballads as well as Lady
Gaga and Kylie covers – he had the entire
wedding in the palms of his hands!
We’re huge fans of the US chain The
Cheesecake Factory and were struggling
to nd a UK company that could make us a
wedding cheesecake. en we discovered
Tuck Box, which created 100 individual
white chocolate and red velvet cheesecakes.
We decided against favours, instead
opting for oversized jars of Percy Pigs and,
later in the evening, shots of Jägermeister!
My top tip ink outside the photo booth.
We choose a VW Campervan with a photo
booth in the backseat. Our guests loved it!
