SPAIN
They wed away
INTERVIEW: TABITHA JOYCE
‘We wanted to blend the traditions
from both our cultures (Spanish and
American) to create a unique wedding.
Our friends and family are spread
across the globe so Spain was as good
a meeting point as any – to thank our
guests for coming we created a wooden
signpost showing how far some had
travelled. Álvaro is a graphic designer
and so created our stationery suite
around our favourite places in Cádiz,
where we live. We found a local artisan
who made us traditional Spanish tiles
- they were the perfect place-names-
come-favours. On the day rain meant
that we had to hold our ceremony
indoors – luckily it let up so we were
able to have cocktails on the lawn.’
